Ossimba Beach Lodge is an Eco-Lodge that offers a rare and exciting combination of comfort, relaxation, tranquility, and sustainability. Private villas offer a comforting respite from a day spent rejuvenating on the beach or exploring the surrounding ocean, mangroves, or forests.
Ossimba Beach Lodge strives to preserve and respect its natural environment wherever possible. For this reason, the lodge is solar-powered and makes use of its own borehole water. The beach and surrounding perimeters of the lodge are guarded 24/7 for guests’ safety and peace of mind.
The lodge is surrounded by 50 hectares of indigenous forest, while the beach is bordered by a marine-protected coral reef. The nearby forest is home to a variety of indigenous trees, including the beautiful Baobab, as well as an array of local and migratory bird life, Sani buck, Red-tailed squirrels, mongoose, Bush babies, Vervet monkeys, and a whole lot more. This plethora of natural wonders allows for a unique opportunity to witness and experience the Mozambican landscape and take in its natural wonders.
Diving in Mozambique
A formalized marine protected coral reef sits just a few meters out from the lodge and offers one the chance to see beautiful corals and an abundance of tropical fish as well as some of the bigger reef fish species found in the area. The area is known as the coral coast, which makes snorkeling or scuba diving an absolute must when visiting Ossimba Beach Lodge.
There are various wrecks, wall dives, and other stunning locations within easy access, suitable for any dive qualification, from the anxious beginner to the highly experienced explorer. It is a macro photographer’s dream!
Divers are bound to be awestruck by the bright and beautiful underwater coral community teeming with a huge array of marine life. Expect to come face to face with a diverse array of reef fish, shrimps, moray eels, garden eels, Regal angelfish, turtles, and even the sought-after Nudibranch! The reefs on the northern side of Mozambique near Nacala Bay are known as Baixe do Pinda and offer some of the most
diverse diving in the country.

With the abundance of natural beauty situated on Ossimba Beach Lodge’s doorstep, there comes ample opportunity to explore. From ocean activities to forest discoveries, there is no shortage of adventure to enrich your stay. Other fun adventures include; whale watching, kayaking/stand-up paddle boards, and bird watching to name a few.
Kayaking has to be the most interesting way to explore and navigate through Ossimba Beach Lodge’s nearby mangroves. Being able to tread so closely to these unique seaside forests often makes for one of the most unique and memorable experiences of any trip to Mozambique. And the calm conditions allow beginners or advanced paddle boarders to experience a memorable day on the ocean.
