Tufi Resort

Papua New Guinea, South Pacific

Tufi Resort has superb scuba diving, natural landscapes and a beautiful culture that attracts visitors from across Papua New Guinea, the Asia Pacific region and the world. We’re proud to showcase everything this dynamic region has to offer, by providing our guests with access to a range of activities and experiences.

Tufi is located in Oro Province on the northern side of the mainland of Papua New Guinea and approximately 250 kilometers due east of the capital, Port Moresby. Situated on the tip of Cape Nelson, Tufi is also 130km south east of the famous Kokoda Trail and Popondetta the major provincial township.

Tufi Resort in Papua New Guinea is one of the few destinations in PNG to offer all year round diving. The clear, calm and protected waters of the tropical fjords offer perfect diving for macro and muck diving, such as the popular house reef, which is only a 5 minute walk from the resort.

The nearest open water reef is just 15 minutes by boat. Scuba diving at Tufi Resort is spectacular, with over 30 major open water reef dive sites in very close proximity. A host of uncharted reefs linked to the nearby Star Reef foundation remain unexplored and unnamed.

The stunning marine biodiversity makes this a unique reef system. Coral outcrops are so abundant with fish, that the saying “more fish than water” is a common phrase. Pelagic schools of tuna, spanish mackerel, barracuda, white tip and black tip reef sharks, hammerheads and the rare white hammerheads, inhabit these pristine and colorful reefs. Turtles, manta and eagle rays plus other marine life are also seen occasionally passing by.
