Important Information Regarding Airline Tickets and Arrangements
ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING AIRLINE TICKETS AND ARRANGEMENTS
.) CHECK DOCUMENTS: Please check your documents as soon as you receive them. Call immediately if you have any questions. It is the passengers responsibility to ensure they have the correct travel documentation in order to travel, including valid passports that meet minimum entry requirements, visas where necessary and innoculations. Deep Blue Adventures may provide advice upon request but this will be in good faith only and the passenger is ultimately responsible to provide accurate information for the purpose of tickets being issued including names, dates of birth, secure flight information etc and ensuring that their documents meet the most recent entry/travel requirements.
.) RECONFIRMATIONS: We recommend that you reconfirm all flights prior to departure and at each point of stopover. This will give the airline the opportunity to keep you advised of any changes which may have occurred in your flight.
.) CHECK-IN REQUIRMENTS: Recommended times for check-in minimum: Domestic: 2 hours, International: 3 hours. Note: Check-In later than these times could result in denied boarding. We recommend checking with your departure airport on the day prior to and again on the day of departure as these times may change.
.) OVERBOOKING: Airline flights may be overbooked. A person denied boarding on a flight may be entitled to a compensatory payment. The rules for denied boarding are available at all ticket counters.
.) CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS: Deep Blue Adventures charges an administration/ticketing fee for the initial booking of airline tickets and additional fees for voluntary changes to existing tickets and processing refunds. To change or cancel your flight itinerary, call this travel agency or the airline you are scheduled to take. If canceling, return the unused tickets to us for refund or credit when applicable. Most special, excursion, and discount tickets have various travel restrictions and may have a penalty. All ticketing and service fees are non-refundable for changes or cancellation. Be sure you understand these restrictions. If you change your plans enroute, ask the airline to apply the value of your unused ticket toward the purchase of a new ticket. If a refund is due, obtain a receipt from the airline. If you are holding guaranteed hotel reservations which you may wish to cancel, notify the hotel as soon as possible to avoid as much loss of unused arrangements. Airlines often have schedule changes. These are completely out of control of the issuing travel agency. Please check the Contracts of Carriage with each airline for your options and rights in the event of a schedule change, delay or cancellation.
.) INSURANCE: Airline and other travel suppliers insurance for baggage have limited liability. Your personal insurance may not adequately cover losses incurred by cancellation, accident, illness or stolen or damaged property. We strongly urge you to purchase additional insurance offered to you.We are not responsible for denied claims.
.) LOST TICKETS: Lost, stolen, or destroyed tickets must be paid for until refund is obtained from the issuing airline, subject to an airline imposed service charge.
.) PREPAID TICKETS: If your travel agent arrangement involved a request for prepaid airline tickets, picked up by the passenger at an airline ticket counter, please note that most carriers require a mandatory non-refundable service charge. We appreciate your understanding of this charge imposed by the airline and not by our office, in order to provide this service.
.) FUEL SURCHARGES AND TAXES: Passengers are subject to all increases in taxes and fuel surcharges imposed by travel suppliers and government.
.) MISSED FLIGHTS: The passenger is responsible for arriving at the airport and the gate with ample time to make their flights. The travel agency and the airline are not responsible for clients who arrive at the airport, the ticket counter or the gate late regardless of the circumstances. Many counters close an hour or more before departure and many gates close 30 minutes or more prior to departure. In some cases, airlines may be responsible for misconnections. Please refer to your airlines’ Contract of Carriage for when they may be responsible and your rights and options in these circumstances. Should a client elect or need to purchase separate tickets and a missconnect occurs, airlines are only responsible for their own portion of the itinerary for which you hold a ticket with them. We strongly recommend avoiding this situation wherever possible. Should a misconnect occur and you have two separate tickets, rebooking fees or potential loss can be catastrophic including new tickets needing to be purchased and/or loss of the entire trip without refund or credit. All costs for missed flights, no-shows or rebooking plus overnight accommodations, transportation etc as well as value of any vacation arrangements lost as a result are 100% the responsibility of the passenger.
