Andrew Patterson

If there’s a new destination to explore, a challenging dive to conquer, or an adventure that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible, there’s a pretty good chance Andrew is already asking, “When do we leave?”

Andrew grew up in the Deep Blue Adventures family and has had a passion for the underwater world for as long as he can remember. Certified as a scuba diver at just ten years old, he has spent years exploring beneath the surface and developing a particular appreciation for challenging, remote, and lesser-known destinations. Today, he is a Divemaster and recently added rebreather diving to his certifications, continuing to seek out new ways to experience the underwater world.

Andrew holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology & Conservation and began his professional career as a Marine Biologist at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. While his career was initially focused on marine science and conservation, Andrew had always remained involved with Deep Blue Adventures behind the scenes, assisting with everything from rates and bookings to marketing.

In 2022, Andrew stepped away from his career in marine biology to pursue a Master’s Degree in Business, adding a new dimension to his scientific background. That combination of conservation knowledge, business education, and firsthand experience in the dive and travel industries ultimately brought him back to Deep Blue full-time in 2023.

Today, Andrew plays a key role in growing Deep Blue Adventures’ adventure travel offerings and helping shape the company for the modern traveler. His goal is to continue expanding beyond traditional dive travel and create experiences that appeal to travelers who want to explore, discover, and experience the world in a deeper way – both above and below the surface.

Adventure is at the heart of everything Andrew does.

He has always been the first to volunteer for the more challenging, unusual, and off-the-beaten-path experiences. Whether it’s exploring a remote dive destination, trekking through the African bush on safari, hiking through a rainforest at night, or finding the next great adventure, Andrew believes the best travel experiences are often the ones that take you a little outside your comfort zone.

That passion extends to helping others experience those moments, too. Andrew loves turning an idea that might seem a little intimidating – or even a little crazy – into a real, achievable journey. He brings a hands-on approach to travel planning and is happiest when he can help someone discover a destination or experience they never imagined they could have.

When he isn’t underwater or dreaming up the next Deep Blue adventure, you’ll likely find Andrew on the golf course or snowboarding down the side of a mountain. He has a competitive streak, an adventurous spirit, and a seemingly endless list of places he wants to explore next.

For Andrew, travel is about more than simply seeing a new place. It’s about pushing your limits, discovering the unknown, connecting with the world around you, and coming home with a story (or seven) worth telling.

And if the destination happens to involve a little adrenaline along the way? Even better.
