Founder & CEO

Born and raised in London, Cheryl’s love of travel began at just eight years old and eventually led her to a career in the travel industry. After discovering scuba in Arizona, she combined her two greatest passions to create Deep Blue Adventures in 2004. Today, Cheryl continues to fuel Deep Blue’s spirit of exploration, connection, and adventure around the world.

Journey Support Partner

A military veteran with more than 32 years of experience in aviation, John has been part of the Deep Blue family since its earliest days. A recreational and rebreather diver for more than 25 years, he loves exploring the underwater world alongside Cheryl and the Deep Blue team. His true passion is photography, capturing the people, wildlife, and unforgettable moments along the way.

Lead Travel Experience Specialist

Kari’s diving journey began in the cool waters of Michigan around the same time Deep Blue Adventures was born. Since joining the DBA team in 2018, she has played a role in nearly every corner of the business and has become an invaluable part of the team. Today, she combines her years of experience and love of diving with her growing global travel expertise to create incredible journeys.

Executive Director of Marketing & Operations

Having grown up in the Deep Blue family, Alex has been immersed in diving and travel for more than 20 years. With a background spanning marine biology, conservation, animal welfare, education, and nonprofit work, she brings a little bit of everything to the team. Today, she helps shape Deep Blue’s brand, marketing, communications, and day-to-day operations while sharing her passion for meaningful travel and giving back.

Travel Specialist Associate

Sarah brings a unique combination of legal expertise, incredible attention to detail, and a lifelong love of travel to the Deep Blue team. A lifelong diver who grew up alongside the Patterson family, she has explored destinations both above and below the surface, from African safaris to Italy’s “Underwater Pompeii.” As a Travel Specialist Associate, Sarah works behind the scenes alongside our specialists to help ensure every detail of our clients’ journeys comes together seamlessly.

Director of Adventure & Experience

With a background in biology, conservation, marine science, and business, Andrew brings a unique perspective to the world of adventure travel. A diver since age 10 and now a Divemaster and rebreather diver, he is always looking for the next challenging or off-the-beaten-path destination. Andrew is passionate about growing Deep Blue’s adventure offerings and helping travelers experience the world in new ways.

Travel Experience Specialist

Christine brings firsthand experience to the dive travel industry. A retired dive instructor and avid underwater photographer, she spent nearly 10 years managing dive centers for resorts in Thailand, Egypt, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Indonesia. After returning home, Christine knew she wanted to stay connected to the diving world. Having met Cheryl and John in Fiji, she joined Deep Blue as a Travel Specialist—and the rest is history!

Travel Experience Specialist

After raising her two boys, Cindy discovered scuba diving through her husband, Scott, and quickly fell in love with the underwater world. Her very first adventures included California diving and a 10-day liveaboard in Palau—and she’s been exploring ever since! A longtime group leader, skier, and travel enthusiast, Cindy brings incredible attention to detail and a passion for helping others discover the wonders of the world – both above and below the surface.
