Magma Hotel is a small, intimate retreat located in one of South Iceland’s most beautiful regions, near Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The hotel offers a unique view, featuring a bird-rich lake, moss-covered lava fields, a black sand glacial river, and distant volcanoes and the Vatnajökull glacier. With just 12 rooms—6 standard, 3 deluxe, and 3 family rooms—Magma Hotel provides a cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped environment. The rooms are designed in a modern Nordic style, each offering spectacular views of the lake and lava fields from a private patio. The hotel’s bistro, named after the Lakagígar eruption that created the nearby lava field, offers a warm, inviting atmosphere and a beautiful view of Vatnajökull. Guests can enjoy free coffee and tea throughout the day in this comfortable setting.
