Welcome to Tioman Island, a tropical paradise in Malaysia, offering a laid-back atmosphere surrounded by lush tropical forests on the shores of the South China Sea.
Tioman Dive Resort (TDR) provides some of the highest quality accommodation on the island. Guests can expect spacious, comfortable, and clean rooms equipped with all the amenities typically found in city hotels, including five-star hotel bedding.
Although TDR is owned by B&J, one of Asia’s longest-established dive operations, many of the resort’s guests are non-divers who simply enjoy the island, partake in snorkeling, or may even wish to try scuba diving.
B&J Dormitories, also managed by TDR, offers a budget-friendly accommodation option with shared rooms.
Scuba Diving
As a PADI 5 Star Diving Center, TDR offers all PADI scuba diving courses, including introductory dives (Discover Scuba Diving) and beginner courses (Open Water Diver). B&J Diving Center and Tioman Dive Resort on Tioman Island are renowned for their commitment to providing quality diving experiences without cutting any corners.
Explore Tioman’s Dive Sites
Tioman Island offers a wealth of opportunities for both novice and experienced divers. TDR is the perfect base for those looking to learn to dive or enhance their diving skills. Experienced dive guides will lead guests to explore the island’s wonders, including vast coral reef gardens, large granite boulders covered in marine life, and swim-throughs.
The diving season runs from early February to mid-November, with the best conditions typically found between March-May and September-November. Certified divers can join daily dive trips to some of Tioman’s best dive sites.
Snorkeling & Swimming
The South China Sea is easily accessible, located less than 30 meters from the resort’s dive center. Guests can either snorkel from the shore or book a snorkeling trip with local operators, such as excursions to the renowned Coral Island.
Hiking
For those interested in hiking, Tioman offers various trails, including routes to Monkey Bay or Juara Beach, which can be explored directly from the resort. Guided tours can also be arranged, allowing guests to see the island’s unique wildlife, such as chameleons and the famous Rafflesia plant.
Other Activities
In addition to diving and hiking, Tioman offers a variety of other activities, including bike and motorbike rentals to explore the main village of Tekek, round-the-island boat trips, or simply relaxing by the sea.
