Their History
The hotel’s family started opening Tilajari Hotel Resort in the Arenal Volcano area in 1989, later in 2003, they bought a unique beachfront property in Guanacaste, called Cabinas Playa Hermosa. This legendary lodging company was first established in Playa Hermosa during the 60s.
The old fashion cabins were popular due to their excellent location right in front of a great, pristine beach. They were also characterized by a good restaurant and beautiful gardens with enormous trees.
Once the family bought it, the property changed from cabins to a hotel, earned the new name Bosque del Mar, Playa Hermosa, and started the project of a total renovation extended by the next 5 years. All rooms were renovated, new furniture was brought in and the family built the swimming pool, jacuzzi, and Junior Suites, improving progressively the quality of services. Later in 2008, the Ocean Front and Garden View Suites were finished to complement the Junior Suites, and a new main building with a high-level restaurant, lounge bar, conference hall, and a Penthouse floor were introduced.
By the end of 2008, Bosque del Mar reopened featuring completely brand new high-level facilities while keeping the charm and intimacy the property originally offered.
Playa Hermosa Bay is a great and peaceful location for beach lovers, not overcrowded, and offers a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean. Just a few kilometers away, there are also other beaches to explore such as Playa Panamá, Ocotal, and El Coco.
